Treasure Hunt in Ostia Antica
Have you ever visited Ostia Antica accompanied by an archaeologist? We will take the pupils to discover this Roman colony through a series of clues and group activities. We will get to know the ancient inhabitants of the city and we will visit little-known and little-visited places. There will really be a “treasure” to be discovered, hidden in one of the many beautiful buildings still preserved within the ancient city.
How will the visit be structured?
Each child will receive their own notebook, map and compass. We will walk through the city (about 1.5 km of walking), stopping at pre-arranged stations where each child will get to solve clues through riddles, group activities or looking for hidden objects. We have organized original and thematic games, designed for learning the history of the ancient city. Each activity can be complemented with an in-depth study in the classroom, to be done after the “treasure hunt”. For this reason, each student will get to bring their own notebook home.
We recommend the presence of at least one adult (teacher or parent) per 10 pupils, so that we can coordinate the activities in the best way with the archaeological guide who will accompany the class.
